Join #IPBES11 Stakeholder Day | in person & online
Update: While registrations to participate in person are no longer accepted, you can still register to participate online.
You are warmly invited to join #IPBES11 Stakeholder Day: an event designed by IPBES stakeholders for IPBES stakeholders. Thanks to our generous hosts and supporters, it is free to attend.*
Who is a stakeholder? If you want to engage with IPBES on biodiversity and nature's contributions to people, you are a stakeholder.
Stakeholder Day is our annual conference that takes place before each IPBES Plenary session. We at ONet organise it together with the IPBES Secretariat, our sibling stakeholder network IIFBES, and the wider stakeholder community.
Join us 9 December 2024, 8.30-18.00 (CAT)
- In person at Mercure Hotel Windhoek, Corner of Auas, 9000 Aviation Road, Windhoek, Namibia.
- Online: details on the live webcast will be published on the IPBES website.
Registration
Registrations to participate in person are no longer accepted as of 25 November 2024. Registration to participate online remains open.
To register, you will first need to create a free account on the official IPBES website and log in (this is different from your ONet account).

What to expect
- Introductions and updates on work at IPBES, from both high-level speakers and the stakeholder community.
- An opportunity to meet other stakeholders, to exchange your ideas and experiences. You are also invited to showcase your achievements and submit a poster (online participants can submit a poster, too!).
- Finalising this year's Stakeholder Opening Statement. ONet has speaking rights at Plenary sessions: each year, we jointly craft a statement that will be delivered during the opening ceremony. Namibia is home to two species: the Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) and the Lesser Flamingo (Phoeniconaias minor). The birds live in the country's wetlands that also include the inland saline lagoons.
