Virtual IPBES: new social media channels, the IPBES podcast, and where to find out what's on

Last updated 19 March 2025.
Old and new opportunities to engage with IPBES — over breakfast, on the go, and practically anywhere.
Connect with IPBES on social media
The social media landscape has been changing dramatically, especially for scientific and science–policy information, as Rob Spaull (IPBES Head of Communications) writes.
Thus, IPBES has recently opened several new social media channels:
- WhatsApp: daily IPBES updates directly to your phone. (Not yet available on Desktop for Windows).
- Bluesky: rapidly becoming a preferred social media platform for the global scientific community, and seeing a lot of positive engagement and knowledge-sharing. Also available in French and Spanish.
By following IPBES social media channels, you will have access to immediate updates and relevant news from IPBES as well as the broader biodiversity science and policy community.
