IPBES youth workshop - Invitation to nominate candidates to participate in the workshop - open till 6 May

"Dear friends and colleagues,

We trust you are all well. We would like to draw your attention to the opportunity for Governments, organizations and networks to nominate participants to an IPBES youth workshop for young professionals and practitioners, 27-28 June 2019 in São Pedro, Brazil. Please find attached the concept note of the workshop.

The IPBES youth workshop aims to expand involvement in IPBES' efforts and increase use and uptake of IPBES products among early-career scientists, policymakers and practitioners. The workshop will:

- familiarize participants with the work of IPBES and identify how they and their networks can contribute; and

- contribute to IPBES' work on scenarios and models by exploring nature future scenarios from the perspectives of the younger generation.

Nominated candidates should be:

- In the early stages of their careers, indicatively not older than 30 years of age and actively engaged in work related to biodiversity and ecosystem services and recognized for their leadership role;

- Willing to actively share experience and knowledge gained within their communities and become an active supporter of IPBES and IPBES's work on capacity-building; and

- Strong communicators and proficient in English.
