About this Event

Dr. Hickel has recently authored the book "Less is More", where he supports the concept of degrowth, essentially, a planned reduction of excess energy and resource use in rich nations to bring the economy back into balance with the living world, while reducing inequality and improving people's access to the resources needed to live long, healthy, and flourishing lives. Dr. Pereira supports the position that transformative, multiscale global scenarios are needed as tools to slow biodiversity decline and achieve sustainability goals.

We will discuss how the economic concept of degrowth and a pluralistic approach to conservation can support biodiversity protection.
