About ONet

The Open-ended Network of IPBES Stakeholders (ONet) is recognised and underpinned by the IPBES. ONet is a space for stakeholders to organise among the community, engage with IPBES, and support the platform's work: in service of biodiversity and nature's contributions to people.

We are a platform organised by stakeholders for stakeholders, with almost 700 registered members. We help our members confidently navigate IPBES, contribute their insights, and benefit from the platform.

  • We connect our members:

    • Newsletter: read by an estimated 250 people in June 2024.

    • Website: our home base for ONet.

    • Social Media: public engagement in collaboration with IPBES.

  • We organize events for our members, including for example:

    • ONet Caucus events: personal engagement for our members around the world.

    • Quarterly meetings with the IPBES Secretariat: directly meet the Secretariat and receive key information.

    • Stakeholder Day: our annual conference, featuring prominently at the location of the IPBES Plenary session.
