The IPBES Secretariat is inviting stakeholders to an online dialogue on the review of the draft scoping report for the second global assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services.

12 June 2024, 10:00-12:00 CEST or 16:00-18:00 CEST

In 2023, at its 10th session, the plenary asked IPBES to prepare a scoping report for a second global assessment: a sequel to the first global assessment published in 2019, the most widely known and impactful report by IPBES.

A scoping report is a detailed outline for an IPBES assessment; it describes how an assessment will be prepared, and what topics it will include.

This final scoping report for the second global assessment will be based on the initial scoping report that is already available. It will be presented to the IPBES Plenary — the platform's governing body including its 146 member governments — at its 11th session in December 2024. The draft is currently open for review.
