How national ecosystem assessments can support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework – Part 2

Webinar on how national ecosystem asessments can support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework

The Sub-Global Assessment Network, in collaboration with the NEA Initiative at UNEP-WCMC, is pleased to invite you to our upcoming webinar series on the Kunming-Montreal Biodiversity Package adopted by the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in December 2022.

On December 19th, 2022, the 15th Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity reached a historic agreement on global goals, targets, indicators and other relevant matters, aimed at halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030 and making significant progress in implementing the Convention’s objectives. The decisions adopted at the Conference of the Parties provided governments, the private sector and other relevant stakeholders with a landmark agreement for biodiversity-related decision-making. As such, the Sub-Global Assessment Network (SGAN) at UNEP-WCMC aims to host a webinar series to provide information on the new Kunming-Montreal Biodiversity Package and showcase how the National Ecosystem Assessment Initiative can support its implementation.

The second webinar of this series, happening on the 12th of April 2023, will aim to  showcase how national ecosystem assessments can support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal global Biodiversity Framework. The presentation will highlight the assessments’ human rights approach and focus on how two of our country partners, Thailand and Colombia, plan to use their national ecosystem assessments to implement the new Framework.

Please feel free to circulate this webinar invitation widely in your networks.

We look forward to welcoming you to this webinar.
