Where Conservation Begins with Communities

25 September 2025, 19:30 CET | online

Join GroundUp Conservation to discuss their collaboration with local communities. This initiative  believe conservation doesn’t begin with a satellite image or a report, it begins with a conversation in a village. With the communities who live closest to forests, rivers, and grasslands. With knowledge passed down through generations.

Co-founders will share the journey of building an enterprise that works with Indigenous peoples and communities across Asia. The session will be moderated by Poorvasha Kar, who will guide the conversation through field stories, philosophies, and lessons learned.

Speakers:

  • Swapnil Chaudhari: leading conservation and development programs in South Asia, Hindu Kush Himalaya, Africa and Europe
  • Radhika Kothari: Senior Program Officer based in New Delhi

>> Register here!

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Why restoration is as much about equity and participation as it is about ecology
  • How Indigenous wisdom and regenerative science come together in practice
  • Stories from Himalayan valleys, tribal lands, and dry ecosystems where communities are leading change
  • Ways CSR leaders, NGOs, and individuals can engage with GroundUp
