Biodiversity loss in the Arctic Ocean
The Arctic Youth Oceans (AYO) network is hosting a new series of online events in 2025. Each event will ask one big question: “Why care?”
This event focuses on marine biodiversity. It will feature a roundtable discussion with Arctic and Indigenous youth, researchers, industry experts, and other stakeholders. After the debate, the audience will be invited to join the conversation.

- David N. Thomas: Professor of Arctic Ecosystem Research in the University of Helsinki
- Sebastian Heinrich Kopf (moderator): Advisor at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research
Arctic Indigenous Youth panelists
- Miyuki Daorana: Inuit and Japanese, is an Indigenous Anthropologist
- Priscilla Frankson : Iñupiaq scholar recently graduated from ASU
