Organised by AfricaLics
AfricaLics webinar & official launch of the innovating resilience: Advancing inclusive agricultural innovation for climate resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa
25 July 2025, 12:00 EAT | online
Join us for a dynamic online session exploring how inclusing agricultural innovation can strengthen climate resilience, reduce rural poverty, and drive sustainable development across Sub-Saharan Africa. The speakers, experts in agricultural economics, will share practical insights and proven strategies — from digital tools and index insurance to social protection programs — that are making a difference for smallholder farmers and marginalized communities.
This webinar also marks the official launch of the new Research Coordination Area: "Innovation Resilience: Advancing Inclusive Agricultural Innovation for Climate Resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa". This initiative focuses on Indigenous and underutilized crops, gender equity, and system-wide change — contributing to the AfricaLics agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals, and African Union Agenda 2063.
Together, we’ll discuss:
– How to make agri-tech accessible and fair
– What works to support farmers in a changing climate
– Why inclusivity and agrobiodiversity matter
– The role of gender and inequality in agricultural innovation
