Organised by "Support for the design and implementation of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration" (DEER), "Global project on forest landscape restoration and good governance in the forest sector" (Forests4Future), and "Alliance for large scale ecosystem restoration in Africa" (AREECA).

17–19 June 2024 (with arrival on 16 June and departure on 20 June 2024). Participants must also engage in about 6 hours of virtual sessions before and after.

The Restoration Academy is an engaging workshop that enables restoration implementers to contribute to and benefit from the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and the AFR100 Initiative.

It will provide training on topics crucial to the success of ecosystem restoration, including:

  • communication/ awareness-raising.
     
  • networking.
     
  • sharing of best practices.
     
  • gender.
     
  • monitoring.
     
  • access to funding.

Funding and accommodation

  • Selected participants are fully funded, including accommodation, meals and travelling costs.
     
  • Accommodation is arranged for selected participants.

 

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply if

  • you work or volunteer for a local or national government agency, scientific institution,
    non-governmental organization (NGO) or a private enterprise.
     
  • your organization is involved in ecosystem restoration with a focus on forest landscape restoration (FLR).
     
  • your organization is based in one of the 34 AFR100 partner countries (see full list of partner countries).
     
  • are ready to share your expertise, present good practices from your work, and engage in a dialogue with other participants to contribute to the goals of the UN Decade.
