In the modern world, humans developed to a great extent which is not bad until the development does not pose any threat to NATURAL WORLD. With time, the developed human projected himself as a SUPERIOR ORGANISM surpassing the need of other organisms. This self-centric approach inducted the loss of floral and faunal species. The extinction rate increased tenfolds than the natural rate. In the blind race of economic development, the nations DISTANCED themselves from NATURE. The voice of the nations advocating for environmental rights was overlooked. The CORPORATE WORLD covered all those nations advocating for environmental protection. The so-called Super Powers openly discarded the conservation issues and the concern for the deterioration of the environment. The monetary gains were at the priority irrespective of the irreversible damages made by the Corporates. Thus, in the race of economic superiority, the nations lost their ethical path which resulted in the SOCIAL DISTANCING. It won't be incorrect to state that the HUMAN DISTANCING from MOTHER NATURE has resulted in the SOCIAL DISTANCING.
Undoubtedly, the COVID-19 with the lockdown has given a breathing space to the fellow creatures. The ecosystem got the chance to flourish which is well evident from the examples being noticed globally. The cement-concrete jungles (urban spaces or the human settlements) which disturbed the forests and wetlands (green and blue spaces) are being used by the wild fellow-creatures and observed by the caged humans. The cleanliness of the air has returned with the fragrance of the flora and the freshness of the water is evident from the disporting aquatic life. The Ozone Hole got a chance to self-healing, the atmosphere and the hydrosphere got a chance to gain their natural features. This is enough for the fellow creatures to enjoy the symphony of the human lockdown all over the globe.
Now, the question is will COVID-19 impact make humans learn a lesson and revive the eco-ethos? or with the time, human will act like the pre-COVID man?
